It’s been almost a week that I haven’t post anything and I also didn’t make any bento during those time. I started my cooking class this Monday, everyday until Friday. Each class takes about 4 hours and since the school is quite far from my home, I need about 90 minutes driving from home to [...] Since right now I’m addicted with sushi making, I tried to make some sushi for my bento. I didn’t aim high on my first attempt, just a simple assortment of nigiri sushi. Since I don’t have experience with raw fish and decided to avoid it for now, besides I really don’t know if [...] I’ve got this new pocket sandwich maker which I think is very nice tool to have, I promise that I will post this new tool sometime next week in ‘bento equipment’ category. The pocket sandwich was made with one slice of bread but with this new tool I could put lots of filling inside the [...] Unagi is one of my favorite food, here in Jakarta they usually sold only at fancy Japanese restaurants with premium price, usually more expensive compare to salmon or shrimp tempura on the menu. That’s why I don’t eat them a lot, the other reason is my wife doesn’t like Japanese food too much so we [...] A very simple breakfast bento. I didn’t use any of my bento equipments, just a knife and a pot to boil sausage, broccoli, and corn. I cut the sausage into four pieces, boiled them and wrapped them with white bread. I put some mayonnaise at the tip of the bread to hold their shape. I [...] After 3 days rest from bento making I felt ready again for another bento adventure. I saw this mini pizza bento in one of my bento mooks collection and wanted to try them. I used white bread for the pizza bread just like the picture I saw, cut them into four parts. Then [...] After Sunday at church, we still have one more birthday celebration at Jojo’s school. We only need to prepare 15 set since there’s only 14 kids at Jojo’s pre-school class. And luckily the school starts at 9 am but I could delivered the goodie bags around 10 am before school’s out so I didn’t need [...] When we were planning what to do for our son Jojo’s 2nd birthday party, I had an idea to make small bento as give away for other kids at the party.
