Of course eventually we’ve got several requests for Angry Birds kyaraben set. So using the onigiris from previous post, I made 2 (two) sets of Angry Birds theme kyaraben.

The first one is almost like the Angry Birds bento I made several months ago but using our usual large take away bento box. This one consists of a red angry bird and a green pig with chicken popcorn, sweet corn, broccoli chunk, strawberry, and an orange slice.
The second kyaraben set is consists of a yellow angry bird and a moustache green pig with chicken popcorn, sweet corn, broccoli chunk, strawberry, and flower sausage with egg sheet.

The first Angry Bird onigiri  project I did was such a hit that I really want to do more of them. So when I’ve got time to do it then I gotta do it since I really can’t predict when we’ll get new orders.

This time I made 5 (five) special Angry Birds theme onigiri: regular green pig, mustached green pig, green pig King, red angry bird, and yellow angry bird. As usual, the green colored rice was made with white rice mixed with peas paste with eyes from cheese, ears from edamame, nose and mouth from cucumber, and other details were made from nori. The mustache was cut from carrot and the crown was from kabocha (while carrot can do the job perfectly fine also).

The angry birds on the background was made with colored rice: red from red yeast rice and yellow from kabocha (Japanese pumpkin) with details made from baby carrot, carrot slice, cucumber skin, cheese, and nori.

Anyway, I made Nemo and Dori characters with chocolate painting. Ever since I introduce the chocolate painting technique to our clients, most of them choose the chocolate painting rather than pasta sheets characters. So from now on most of the posts will have lots of chocolate painting characters. If I have some spare time I would like making some characters with pudding too, that would be a great party food too.Another improvement I would like to make is giving some background to my chocolate characters since the usage of baking paper is kinda bland but of I don’t think I can print some colors on them (and would be a bad idea also, mixing food with ink :S). We can use some baran (food separator) that have pictures on them but it’s kinda hard to find around here. But I will look into them in the near future as I always want to improve the quality of our kyaraben ^_^

The bento filling for this one is Japanese fried rice (white rice with onion, peas, carrot, corn, red pepper saute with soy sauce and fish sauce) with ebi furai (it’s like chiken katsu but made with shrimp instead of chicken breast fillet), corn, broccoli, beef sausage, and strawberry jelly.

I knew these Little Einsteins while working while my son watching Playhouse Disney channel. While the show was named ‘Einstein’ but it’s not a science educational show, instead the show teach young kids about art and culture from different countries and civilizations and also introduce some classical music and their composers.With lots of projects coming so fast, I have to make lots of chocolate painting of requested characters since cutting pasta won’t make the time frame needed for completion. These Little Einsteins was made in about 6 (six) hours for 24 (twenty-four) of them, so it’s roughly 15 (fifteen) minutes each characters. The outlines were not that difficult to make, but with full body characters there’s a lot of lines to make. And with quite lots of different colors for characters costume and skin colors I have to make lots of colored chocolates.

The overall result was quite good since there’s quite a variety from the four different characters.
