This bento is to complete my Winnie the Pooh set, since I’ve made Pooh several months ago, Piglet and Tigger were made on the same day. I can go on making the whole gang, but I think I stop now for three, maybe in near future I will make Roo, Rabbit, Eeyore and the others.
I like the Pooh character since they’re easily recognized so kids can remember them (little kids usually have trouble to differentiate Mickey and Minnie), easy to draw since they have not so many details, and since they have not so many details they’re very easy to cut also which suits me very well.
But this Tigger is somewhat harder to make compare to Pooh and Piglet while still easier than those Princesses. I need to cut 10 (ten) different parts with 4 (four) different colors plus adding details with nori for the eyes and whiskers. So if I have to mark the difficulty level for this one, I say it’s 5/10 while 10 is the hardest.
The bento filling is like Piglet bento but this one has less dishes since the bento box is smaller. I put fried noodle, savory quail egg, caramelized tempeh, stir fried string beans, and pickled cucumber. They’re still considered ‘rames’ set, more economical since we don’t have beef rendang which usually take 1/3 of the price. I myself must have those yummy beef rendang in my ‘rames’ since they’re so delicious, one of my favorite dish ^_^
