Lemon chicken bento

I browsed on the web and decided to try making lemon chicken as my next bento menu. Besides that I’m new at bento making, I’m also new to cooking. I never cook an instant noodle before I was 21. I didn’t know how to cook rice on rice cooker before I was married at 28. But since I spent more time around my house I found the desire to cook, and suddenly I realized that I’m loving it. My wife was very happy about my new found love since she hates cooking, especially frying with very hot cooking oil, and somehow I’m very good at it since the very first trial (only at frying, I still have lots to learn cooking in general, especially baking).

The lemon chicken itself was a failure since while the frying process was good, I put too much lemon juice on the fried chicken before wrapped them with nori so the taste was sour (but it still look quite delicious on the picture :p).

Again I first trial my new bento equipment, this time I used the 4 shapes rice mold, but I only using three, the heart, triangle, and star. I put the X carrot (cut from alphabet ham & vegetables cutter), tiny star cheese (from the same set of alphabet cutter), and added pink furikake. They didn’t have any meaning, I just put them to add some colors.

I saw the twin little piggy on one of my bento mook I had. Quite easy to make, just need to find the right size of carrot and then cut one fourth circle shape of cucumber for the ear parts. I used toothpick to attach the carrot to the body (quail egg) and add the usual sesame seed for their eyes.

Since I had lots of cucumber and carrot  I add them to my bento, cut them in bites size and put them on the silicon tray (of course they also new, they all new :D ) along with some kiwi and pear bites.
